Jaxon has really enjoyed the FRIENDS program. We are looking forward to using the tools and skills he has learnt in everyday life. You ladies are wonderful and it’s been a wonderful experience.

Georgia absolutely loved coming to Fun Friends. She would love to come all year if she could. The coping skills she learned has helped her, and myself, deal with the days she doesn’t want to go to school and deal with her emotions. She still gets a bit nervous in new situations, but we now have the skill to work around it and its not so daunting for her (or me). You guys made her feel so special, so thanks Mel and Libby.

Highly recommended as we are all earning new tips and traits how our son can tackle and cope with ever changing family, peer and challenges in life as well as caring about others and growing his confidence.

As a parent I loved the program because it gave such clear and concise information about the goals of the program and how they would be achieved. It was a lot of work. Parents really do need to put time into the Fun Friends homework, but the results are great. My kids will often tell me to take deep breaths, change my red thoughts to green, reassure me using the Fun Friends methods that they learned, and to see them using that and applying it to me is testimony in itself. I'm amazed at the level of emotional awareness and maturity the kids reached just by attending the lessons and practicing the simple exercises at home. They both got so much out of the course, and I think I got even more! I would recommend it to anyone, it was a wonderful way to spend time with the kids and a structured way of getting across some of the most important things they'll ever need to know.

We were very concerned about our pre-school daughter for a variety of reasons to do with socialising and attention. The areas included confidence and skills in interacting with others as well as her tendency not to pay attention to or absorb what others were saying to her.
While Fun Friends went for just 1.5 hours a week, its practical, easy-to-follow strategies and family involvement meant the program was working for our daughter every day. Melanie and Libby were also happy to be contacted for advice outside of these times.
Our daughter has now just started year one and we have been able to much more effectively inform her teacher of what we see as some of her challenges and the sorts of strategies that have been proving to be effective. We can't speak highly enough of Melanie and Libby, who are adept at understanding children's social development and learning styles and gifted in the way they communicate with the kids and families and effect change.
Even now, well after the course has concluded, Melanie is putting together some suggested strategies for the classroom, which we'll pass on to her teacher. The teacher is not offended by this, but delighted such resources are being put behind one of her students.
Irene (mother of a 6 year old Fun Friends attendee):
From early in the Fun Friends Program, I could see my child using the skills taught, and the changes in behaviour these brought about. Her love of the sessions, and Libby and Melanie, meant that she took the lessons on board with great enthusiasm, which aided her understanding. The experience has been a highly valuable one for us and our daughter who would attend all year round if she could.
Nicole (mother of a 9 year old FFL attendee):
My daughter was hesitant about attending at the start, but after the first session she came out with a big smile and said “I love it!!” She has been excited to go every week and even wants to do the course again. The skills and concepts taught are brilliant and taught in a fun way that engages the kids. Thanks for your help.
Lynda (mother of an 8½ year old Friends for Life attendee):
My daughter has now learnt and developed wonderful life skills through Melanie and Libby’s professional informative FRIENDS FOR LIFE program. My daughter’s enthusiasm has been amazing. Several teachers and parents have noted a fantastic positive change in my daughter. As a parent I have also acquired useful knowledge and enhanced understandings. I am truly appreciative of Melanie and Libby’s time and efforts to bring the FRIENDS FOR LIFE program to WA.
Hillary and Andrew (grandparents of 6 year old Fun Friends attendee):
We can’t believe the difference in our daughter. The course has been marvellous for her and came at the right time. We can’t thank you enough for this as she is a much happier child as a result.
Chris (mother of a 6 year old):
After a successful term of Fun Friends, our daughter wanted to keep going. So we thought another term of the same program would be valuable and reinforce the ideas, concepts and practice that Fun Friends teaches. We have found this works brilliantly. Thank you (again!) Melanie and Libby; as ever it is your knowledge, skills, care and enthusiasm that makes Fun Friends such a profoundly valuable experience.
