Melanie Finlay-Collins
Melanie has a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Education and a Bachelor of Education. Melanie has been a Primary School Teacher for 17 years and has worked in schools in Australia and the United Kingdom.
Melanie's passion for teaching has never waned. However once she became a mother her fundamental belief that education should encompass the needs of the whole child (physical, social, emotional and cognitive aspects) came into even clearer focus.
This led to a move away from classroom teaching and into a Licensing Agreement with Pathways and Professor Paula Barrett to generate a greater awareness of the FRIENDS Programs in Western Australia.
Melanie sees the FRIENDS programs as a way to provide families with an opportunity to balance the education scale between cognitive skills on one side and social emotional skills on the other.
It is for this reason Melanie is so passionate about delivering the programs in the most professional, engaging and fun way possible drawing on her years of teaching experience.
